Acesso: Estacionar o veículo na Estrada da Meia Légua junto a uma capela e iniciar a subida pelas escadas em #1 (50m da capela). A subida é ingreme mas em cerca de 40min alcança o início do canyoning. Em #2 seguir pela direita em direção aos terrenos para alcançar a linha de àgua.
É possível subir com um veículo até o canyoning e estacionar em #3 logo após um túnel, cerca de 12km do ponto de saída. Desça a vereda até o ponto #2 e vire à esquerda para alcançar o canyoning.
Observações: Apesar do equipamento ser todo em inox e com pontos duplicados, não é equipamento certificado para a prática desportiva/ profissional.
Entre R5 e R7 a secção é bastante estreita e com rapeis na linha de água. Deve ser evitado em dias de caudal muito forte, facilmente observado desde a caminhada de aproximação.
Saída: Após R13 siga a linha de água por mais 50m, perto das traseiras da capela existe um pequeno e estreito acesso na margem direita que nos leva à estrada.

Today there was a high flow in the canyon, but it was still OK to go. An incredible day, all anchors are in place, partly sunny and very wet 🙂
The access via the stairs took 40 minutes and the path through the agricultural terraces took 10 minutes. We entered just one small downclimb before the first abseil.

We had a bit higher flow than normal, all equipment is OK, although the bolts on R10 show some small traces of rockfall.
We collected a high amount of thrash, this could be repeated in the future.

Caudal normal, mas com agua abundante com o que fez o canyon mais interessante.
Canyon Escorregadio.
Depois de entrar na ribeira, caminhada lenta passando varios obestasculos, apos R1 a ribeira fica mais aberta e sem grandes dificuldades na locumoção, uma vez mais alerto, canyon escorregadio.
Pontos altos é fase encadeada de rapeis uns atrás dos outros, juntamento com a grande cascáta.
Canyon que só peca pela quantidade de canas e troncos caidos no leito, seja no inicio e no fim do Canyon…

Caudal corrente em todo o canyoning, equipamento em bom estado.
O canyoning já recuperou um pouco desde 2014, apresentando agora menos lixo que à data.

Canyoing top mas com muito lixo necessita de uma intervenção
Canyoing descido dia 6 11 2023.
A aproximação poderá ser feira de 2 maneiras.
Opção A apenas com um carro deixando no fim do canyoing ao pé da capela. Subido a vereda íngreme que ira demorar cerca de 40 minutos.
Ao chegar ao topo procurar dois postes de eletricidade que denúnciam a entrada virar a direita pelos poios até encontrar a linha de água.
Opção B.
Fazer a logística usando dois carros.
Carro deverá ser ficar estacionado logo após o túnel antes da aldeia á direita onde têm uma paragem de autocarro.
A aproximação demora cerca de 15m sentido descendente pelas escadarias que irá dar acesso á vereda das furnas. (A mesma vereda da opção A)
Dois postes de luz entrar a esquerda descer pelos poios ( terrenos cultivados). Até encontrar a linha de água visível.
O canyoing começa com algum lixo nomeadamente as primeiras 3 cascatas o canyoing e composto em rocha viva basalto e não é escorregadio,caudal baixo. Todas as Amaracoes se encontravam em excelente estado. Todas novas td em químico. Forma em (U) e algumas em correntes em (V) o canyoning como progressão muitíssimo curta cerca de 5 A 15m de distância entre cada amaracação.
Após a r5 o canyoning fica extremamente fechado algumas partes mesmo afunilado onde o caudal cai direto e cima do jogador.
A grande vertical de 85m é o ponto forte do canyoning onde temos uma abertura sobre o vale da serra de água a fracionado 25+ 60. Onde possui algum rocamento.
Na base da grande vertical muito cuidado queda de pedras. A próxima cascata de 40metros ficamos expostos á mercê da água. Saída cerca de 5m pela parte de trás da igreja á direita onde tem uma levada bastante apertada. (Pessoas gordas não passam)
De um modo geral é um canyoing bala aproximação rápida saída rápida não escorregadio todas Amaracoes estão novas possuí uma grande verticalidade sem fazer muita progressão zonas afuniladas e rocha basatica não parece quê estamos na madeira. É Mais um ambiente de canyoning de dos Alpes.
Dias de chuvas muito perigoso pelas queda de rocha e água em grandes quantidades sobretudo nas zonas apertadas que pode causar afogamento
Muitos rapeis são Feitos debaixo de água.
Amaracoes são desconfortáveis e sem suporte para pés.

Unfortunately the last rain has brought down some parts of the garbage the Furnas citizien threw in the river. But still I like the canyon a lot.
Water level was good, all anchors are where they belong and I did some more bush cutting in the canyon.

An amazing day with sunny rappels in the waterfalls.
The water level is still good. Despite the June rain, the gear is all in place. On the acces path there has happened a small landslide in the upper part, the passage is possible but a bit dangerous. I guess it will be repaired soon.
The second highest waterfall now in the waterline.

The water level is already quite low but it is still nice to go through the canyon.
The reequipment is complete now, there is always two U-bolts, on the higher rappels with a chain. Some of the watefalls are equipped with bolts for a handrail.
Take care, most of the rappels are in the flow.
Best starting time is around 12 to have sun in all of the waterfalls.
There have been two big landslides in the canyon, some new huge blocks are in the riverbed.

Lower water level than on 7. January, but still good flow.
We used the “normal” entry which is much better because it skips the rubbish of the first part.
First day of reequipment: glue in u-bolts, in the higher waterfalls with chains until the first narrow part and in the beginning of the 85 meters drop. Than the batteries where empty. So partly still in exploration style.
If you use the upper parking (just after the tunnel before Furna), the access walk takes 20 minutes and is only downhill.

Water level was OK, we started in the village at the bridge that crosses the ribeira. There is a lot of rubbish from the houses above in the canyon. It is kind of a crime that they threw in all ths shit: A vacuum cleaner, a microwave, plastic bottles, rubbish bags, electronics and much more.
In the beginning there was a lot of vegetation, we just managed to break through. We did find almost no equipment, just a few rotten ropes and old rusty bolts. Only the 60 meters drop has one inox bolt, on all the other rapels we had to improvise something with slings, ropes or drilling some new anchors (which are in expedition style).
The middle part is very nice and provides some nice showers. The last big drop is in the dry.
The canyon needs some serious reequipment and cleaning to move to the top canyons list.
